The Pogue Fado was rockin' on January 30th for Haligonia 4 Haiti - a benefit show and live webathon that raised over $6500 for Oxfam. Some of the region's most talented bands, musicians and artists came out to lend their support, entertain and educate the crowd at the Pogue, and the audience online. The entire 6.5 hour show was broadcast live on the web by Haligonia.ca.
It was an all-star line-up that showcased the diverse talent and sounds of Haligonia - from solo artists like Mike Trask and Mary Stewart - to the 20+ crew of Samba Nova. Beatboxers and a belly-dancer, spoken word poets and the hard-rocking Remedy. In total, there were 17 memorable performances.
Thanks again to the that gave their time for this great cause - we have a pretty special community of artists in Nova Scotia.
