Haligonia 4 Haiti

On January 30th, 2010 - volunteers, musicians, artists, family and friends - came to together for Haligonia 4 Haiti, an Oxfam benefit show and live webathon at the Pogue Fado in Halifax.

$6500 was raised for Oxfam Canada to help in their relief efforts in Haiti, and the entire show (6.5 hours) was streamed live to the web by Haligonia.ca.

The event featured an amazing line-up of 18 bands, musicians and artists, including Remedy, Sons of Maxwell, Three Sheet, Mike Trask, Samba Nova, and Mary Stewart. A full list with links will be up soon.

The broadcast also featured interviews with Oxfam staff, including a special video message from Mark Fried - an Oxfam worker on the ground in Haiti.

On The Set Of Classified's "Oh Canada" Video Shoot

 
 

Last weekend I had a cool opportunity to work with Dj IV covering the action on the set of the new Classified video for "Oh Canada". IV worked double duty that day - hosting the behind the scenes footage for Haligonia.ca, and as Classified's DJ, he had a starring role in the video as well.

The first two segments are below, plus a photo gallery from the afternoon. Thanks to my sister Kristen for taking the photos.

The Flickr Calendr Turns Two

Two years ago tomorrow, the Flickr Calendr 2007 went online, cataloging a year of Flickr photography. The slideshow featured 365 Flickr photographers, and a different picture taken on each day of the year.

 

The photo of my dog Dutch that wrapped up 2007 slideshow (below) was taken on December 31, 2007. The second picture was taken today. Some things have changed - like he's bigger, other habits remain.
